Las Vegas on a Budget

When most people think of Las Vegas, they think of flashy clubs, expensive shops, glitzy shows and limousines. One wouldn’t be wrong, conjuring up these images – there are insane amounts of people that go to Las Vegas and spend tens of thousands of dollars in a matter of weeks (or even days!)However this is not the only way to ‘do’ Las Vegas. It is a shame that so many people looking for a budget holiday will cross Vegas off their list due to the misconception that it’s just not possible to enjoy Las Vegas on a budget. Well my friends, it actually is entirely possible; read on for some tips.

Hotels

The-Bellagio

Don’t leave the expensive hotels off your list when you’re searching for accommodation. The expensive hotels actually have excellent deals at certain times of the year that work out to more than half off the usual price for a room and it can actually work out cheaper than staying in budget accommodation.  Also keep in mind that stays during the week will be significantly cheaper than on the weekend. If you’ve exhausted all options and searched on Expedia or Booking.com for hotels in your budget and still haven’t found anything, then there are a variety of different hostels that charge around $15 a night.

Eat and Drink

One thing Las Vegas is not short of is buffets! For all you buffet fans out there, this is definitely the place to be! Breakfasts and lunches are cheaper than dinners (usually about half the price,) so fill up at lunch and just have something light at night. When you’re feeling extra hungry, consider the “Buffet of Buffets.” Yes this is exactly what is sounds like! The king of all buffets. For $50 you get a pass to all of the buffets around Las Vegas (including at the fancy hotels) and you can eat as much as you want for 24 hours! Warning; not for the faint hearted!

Entertainment

Vegas is filled with entertainment options for free (or for cheap.) The Vegas strip ensures an entertaining night/day out exploring the incredible themed hotels. The hotels regularly put on free shows to attract crowds and they really are extremely impressive! I hate to say it, but if you are a girl you will find that you will spend a lot less on entertainment – for example, club entry at all clubs across the strip are free for girls. Also, during the week when business is a bit slow, many restaurants will invite groups of girls into their restaurants where they will eat for free. Why you may ask? They want to make the restaurant look more full and in turn attract more customers! One thing you have to do when visiting Vegas is go to one of the incredible world class shows. Vegas2go offers last minute tickets to a variety of different shows at 50% of the price! Bargain! Also in front of the Mirage hotel, a huge volcano erupts every hour from 5-11pm – a must see! Finally if you enjoy alcohol but you don’t enjoy paying the exorbitant prices, step inside one of the many casinos! Casinos offer free drinks to gamblers, and it doesn’t matter if you’re just playing on the 1 cent slot machines, you’ll still get to enjoy this perk!

Those are just a few ways you can enjoy Las Vegas on the cheap! Have you been to Las Vegas? How did you manage to stay within your budget?
