Anyone who knows me, knows that I will never leave the house without being fully adorned in jewelry. Period. I will never be satisfied with an outfit (no matter how fantastic) without the perfect pieces of jewelry to go with it. So as you can imagine, I have built up quite the collection of jewels over the years – and beautiful jewels at that. It may sound like I’ve spent a small fortune feeding my addiction, however that’s certainly not the case. Gone are the days where the only way one could wear gorgeous jewelry was by paying exorbitant prices.
How you may ask? Read on my friends for all my tips and tricks on finding beautiful jewelry at affordable prices 🙂
Garage Sales
Scour your local city on www.craigslist.org for garage sale listings! This is definitely one of my favourite ways to find beautiful and unique vintage jewelry. I have found some absolutely stunning pieces – the type that actually stop people in the street to ask you where they’re from.  Be prepared to really search though – most people don’t even think anyone would be interested in their vintage jewels and brooches, and just throw everything together in piles. Yes you will need to search through garbage but it will be worth it once you find your treasure! And the best part? The prices! Garage sales are meant for people to get rid of items they no longer want, so most of the time they’re willing to sell things for very cheap. Oh and don’t be scared to make use of those bargaining skills!
Sales
I am a sales junkie in general, but high end jewelry sales are my absolute favourite kind. I have the Michael Hill site bookmarked and find myself constantly hitting the ‘refresh’ button to see what items have been put on sale. Whenever I’m searching for a really classy piece, this is where I will go first – sometimes it is worth spending a bit more money if you know you will keep the piece for many years to come. I also read a lot of the fashion magazines so I am always informed of the high end jewelry shop sales and I’m the first one in the door!
Ebay
Ebay has been one of my favourite sites since I can remember – but only recently did I discover the incredible jewelry section! I have my favourite shops bookmarked and I am also sent emails when they add new pieces. Prices are of course extremely reasonable and I’ve found some incredible bargains here. Another thing I love about Ebay is that they not only list the items from shops, but also from different people every day so I never feel like I’m seeing the same things over and over again.
So there you have it – just three of my tried and tested ways to find beautiful jewelry at affordable prices. How have you found your favourite jewelry pieces? Share your tips!
